The New Patriotic Party (NPP) member of parliament for Agona West, Hon Cynthia Mamle Morrison has dismissed media reports that she had withdrawn her decision to contest as an independent candidate in the December polls.

Hon Cynthia is among the four MPs who seats have been declared vacant by Speaker of Parliament, Thursday. A declaration which the Supreme Court rules to stay, Friday.

The Agona West MP lost her bid to contest the seat again in the 2024 election in the NPP primaries to Christopher Arthur, who is now the current NPP parliamentary candidate for the upcoming December 7 polls.

Hon. Cynthia Morrison alluded to being treated unfairly by the NPP as her reason for seeking to run independent candidate in the 2024 elections.

Tolonradio.com has gathered that, though Madam Morrison reaffirm her commitment to the fortunes of the NPP and however she will still contest the 2024 elections as Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Agona West Constituency.

Tolonradio.com can confirm that, the leader of the NPP including the National Council and that of the leadership in parliament are currently engaging Hon Mamle Morrison to rescind her decisions to go Independent for the larger interest of the NPP.

Meanwhile the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin today, 22 October 2024 adjourned parliamentary proceedings indefinitely, citing the lack of a quorum as the reason for halting the session and briefly mentioned that he had received a communication from the Supreme Court.
