The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed confidence that he will join the Christian Council of Ghana celebrate its 100 years anniversary as President in 2029.
Dr. Bawumia who met leadership of the Christian Council on Thursday said, “I am told the Christian Council was founded in 1929. You will be 100 years in 2029 and by the grace of God I will be President by then”.
His meeting with the council is part of his ongoing engagement with various institutions after his re-election to lead the opposition party into the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Speaking at the meeting which focused on issues relating to national development, Dr. Bawumia praised the Christian Council for the roles it has played in various sectors of the Ghanaian society.

He praised the role of mission schools in shaping leaders in various fields, insisting that the country’s educational landscape would have been poorer without their contribution.
He indicated that many mission schools were once centers of excellence, but their standards have fallen significantly due to the changes in management structures.
