The flagbearer of the National  Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr John Dramani Mahama said he will bring peace to the people of Karaga when voted into power come December 7.

According to him, bringing peace to Karaga will be one of his main priorities.

Speaking at a rally ground in the Karaga constituency as part of his tour in the northern region, the former President said there can only be development when there is peace.

“It’s been three years since the people of Karaga constituency celebrate any traditional festival, be it Damba or fire festival and it’s all because of the insecurities in the Karaga town. I will make sure the people of Karaga celebrate every traditional festival without any fear.” He said

The NDC flag bearer promised to build a modern senior high school and hospital in the Konkomba zone.

He also promised to complete the Pishigu-Pigu road within 45 days in office and all ongoing projects in the district.

He was accompanied by the party’s Northern regional chairman, Mr Adolf; member of parliament for Tamale South, Hon Haruna Iddrisu; member of parliament for Sagnarigu, Hon A.B.A Fuseini; the deputy national chairman of the party; and other dignitaries.
