Reason for unannounced visits
Explaining the rationale for her unannounced visits to the schools, Hajia Fati Forgor said, the exercise helps the Secretariat get first hand information on how the program is being run across the country.
“So far I have visited 13 regions and these visits have helped me assess the effectiveness of the program. I can’t rely solely on the reports from my coordinators. For instance, if I tell them I am coming, they can hide some of the challenges so I won’t get the full picture of what is happening”, she revealed.
