More than 3 persons injured in head-on collision at Nyankpala

More than three people have been injured in a head-on collision between a motorbike and tricycle at Nyankpala in the Tolon District of the Northern Region.

The accident which occurred on Friday night saw a woman who was one of the passengers in the tricycle sustain a fracture injury while the motorbike rider sustained a head injury which led to him losing consciousness.

An eyewitness told tolonradio.com that, the motorbike rider veered off his lane on the main Nyankpala-Tamale highway and run into the tricycle rider who was on his way to Tamale with 4 passengers.

“While we were on our way, I saw that the motorbike rider veered off his own lane while riding towards us and run into my colleague’s tricycle causing the accident. The woman who had a fracture was sitting beside my colleague when the incident occurred”, the witness revealed.

A member of the Emergency Medical Team who also spoke to tolonradio.com revealed that, the motorbike rider had sustained a head injury and was unconscious. He said, “the rider is unconscious now and we are sending them to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further attention”.
