The Managing Director of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Farhan Alhassan, has reaffirmed the bank’s unwavering commitment to the Gbewaa Palace and the Dagbon Kingdom.

He assured the traditional authorities that GCB will continue to stand with the kingdom, especially during moments of grief and transition.

Farhan gave the assurance when a high powered delegation from GCB paid a courtesy call on the Gbewaa Palace to commiserate with the Royal Family following the passing of the late Ya-Na Abukari II.

Addressing the Kampakuya Naa and elders of the kingdom, the Managing Director said the bank recognizes the immense contribution of the late Ya-Na to peace, unity and development in Dagbon, stressing that GCB remains a dependable partner of the kingdom.

“We stand in solidarity with Dagbon during this difficult period and will continue to support the Gbewaa Palace whenever the need arises,” he assured.

As a gesture of sympathy and support towards the funeral rites of the late Overlord, the delegation presented a donation comprising GH¢50,000 in cash, 20 bags of rice, 10 bags of maize, 10 cartons of cooking oil, 100 packs of bottled water, and one bull to assist with the funeral arrangements.

The donation was received by elders of the Gbewaa Palace, who expressed gratitude to GCB for the generous support and solidarity shown to the Royal Family and the people of Dagbon during their period of mourning.

The visit underscores the continued relationship between Ghana Commercial Bank and the Dagbon Kingdom, reflecting the bank’s commitment to supporting traditional institutions and communities across the country.
