The Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of Kplinyin Primary and Junior High School in the Kumbungu district of the Northern Region is appealing for urgent support from authorities to address a severe furniture shortage.
With students struggling to find places to sit, the PTA has taken the initiative to cut down trees around the school to make chairs, but the effort is being hindered by lack of resources.
Despite being neglected by Government authorities, the PTA has been using its own financial means to fund the project.

However, the process according to the PTA of the school has been slow due to the realization that most of the trees are not long enough to make multiple chairs, and some have been spoiling due to lack of moisture.
The PTA is now calling on both Government and local Authorities, NGO’s, together with old students of the school, to provide support and work with them to find a solution.

This appeal serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by schools in rural areas and the need for collaborative efforts to address these issues.
