The Mayor of City of Laurel, Maryland, Keith R. Sydnor has unveiled a new directory highlighting African-owned businesses and cultural venues in the city.
The directory, compiled by Mayor Keith Sydnor, aims to support and engage residents and visitors.
“As Mayor of the City of Laurel, it is my honor to highlight and celebrate the many African-owned businesses that contribute to our city’s culture, economy, and community spirit”. He said in statement
“These entrepreneurs represent the diversity, innovation, and resilience that make Laurel a thriving place to live, work, and visit’. He added
Mayor Keith Sydnor noted that, “through this directory, we recognize their impact and encourage residents and visitors alike to support and engage with these establishments. Together, we continue to strengthen the bonds of culture, commerce, and community that define our great city”.
The Maryland Mayor announced this during interaction session with some MMDCEs and stakeholders at the official opening ceremony of the African American Mayors USA Trade Mission conference at the La Palm Royal Beach, Accra, Monday October 27,2025.
