Ghana and Saudi Arabia strengthen bilateral ties with landmark agreement

Ghana and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have taken a significant step towards deepening their relationship with the signing of a General Cooperation Agreement. The agreement, signed by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament, and H.E. Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, aims to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

The signing ceremony, which took place in the presence of President John Dramani Mahama and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, marks a new era of collaboration and mutual growth between Ghana and Saudi Arabia. Prior to the signing, the Saudi delegation paid a courtesy call on President Mahama, where both countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, security, and development.

The General Cooperation Agreement provides a framework for Ghana and Saudi Arabia to work together in various areas, promoting mutual understanding, economic cooperation, and cultural exchange. This landmark agreement is expected to boost trade, investment, and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President John Dramani Mahama welcomed the agreement, stating that it would further strengthen the friendly relations between Ghana and Saudi Arabia. He expressed his government’s commitment to working closely with Saudi Arabia to promote peace, security, and development in the region.

The Saudi Arabian delegation also expressed their country’s commitment to collaborating with Ghana in areas of mutual interest. They highlighted the importance of the agreement in enhancing bilateral relations and promoting economic cooperation between the two nations.

The signing of the General Cooperation Agreement is a significant milestone in the history of bilateral relations between Ghana and Saudi Arabia. It is expected to open up new avenues for cooperation and collaboration in various fields, including trade, investment, education, and culture.
