Former NEIP CEO Kofi Nkansah rebuts Health Minister’s claim on agenda 111 projects

Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Mr Kofi Nkansah, has refuted claims by the Minister of Health that the Akufo-Addo administration spent 400 million dollars on the Agenda 111 hospital projects without completing a single facility.

In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Mr Nkansah described the Minister’s comments as inaccurate and misleading. He insisted that the Akufo-Addo–Bawumia government has successfully completed more than 60 hospital projects across the country.

According to him, the completed facilities include district hospitals in Akontombra, Bogoso, Elubo, Tolon, Sawla, Buipe, Suame, Twedie, Manso Nkwanta, and Mim, as well as polyclinics in Ashaiman, Adentan/Ogbojo, Bortianor, Oduman, and Sege.

He further mentioned key national health projects such as the Urology and Nephrology Centre at Korle Bu, the University of Ghana Medical Centre Phase Two, and modernisation works at Tetteh Quarshie, Aburi, Kibi, and Atibie Hospitals.

Under the Agenda 111 initiative, Mr Nkansah said that hospitals at Trede, Kokoben, and Ahanta West have been completed, while many others are at an advanced stage of construction. He added that the Akufo-Addo government also inherited and completed facilities at Fomena, Bekwai, Tepa, and Bolgatanga.

Mr Nkansah maintained that these achievements demonstrate the government’s strong commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure nationwide.

“If former President Mahama completed only one hospital, how can anyone claim this government has done none, when over 60 facilities have been delivered?” he stated.

The former NEIP CEO’s comment follows remarks by the Health Minister, which have sparked renewed debate about the progress and transparency of the Agenda 111 hospital project.
