Former Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Musah Superior, is urging presidential hopefuls of the New Patriotic Party to prioritise loyal and hardworking members of the party when offering appointments in any future NPP government.
In a statement released, Mr. Superior cautioned against what he called “opportunists and apolitical individuals” who stay away from party activities in opposition but later surface to seek positions when the party wins power.
He said such individuals often claim to have made secret contributions or rely on connections to secure appointments at the expense of dedicated grassroots supporters and volunteers.
Mr. Superior stressed that the practice of, in his words, “monkey dey work, baboon dey chop” must end. He added that only those who actively defend, campaign, and contribute to the NPP’s activities should be rewarded.
He called on the flagbearer aspirants to ensure loyalty and commitment are recognised, saying this is the surest way to rebuild the party, reconnect with its base, and secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
