The Parliament of Ghana is set to commence debate on the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government of Ghana for the 2025 financial year on Monday, July 28, 2025.

The announcement was made by the Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for South Dayi. He informed the House during the presentation of the Business Statement for the tenth week, ending Friday, August 1, 2025.

According to Hon. Dafeamekpor, the debate on the Mid-Year Review presented on Thursday, 24th July 2025, will span four days, from Monday, July 28, to Thursday, July 31, with contributions expected from members across both sides of the House. He emphasised the importance of the debate in assessing the government’s fiscal direction and economic strategy for the remainder of the year.

Additionally, four Ministers are scheduled to appear before Parliament during the week to respond to 21 parliamentary questions. Hon. Dafeamekpor further noted that Ministers of State may also take the opportunity to make policy statements as necessary.

He called on Members of Parliament to fully participate in the scheduled activities, stressing the importance of attending to the legislative business of the week. He also disclosed that Parliament is expected to adjourn sine die on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The Mid-Year Review provides an opportunity for the government to update the House and the nation on the country’s economic performance and to propose necessary fiscal adjustments, if required.
