A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Musah Superior has chastised the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Stephen Amoah over what he term as his regilious bigotry comments in the media.

Hon Amoah, a staunch supporter of NPP Presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyepong, in a statement said Christians in Ghana will not vote for a Muslim to become a. President but Mr Superior faulted the Nhyiaeso MP comments describing it as awfully reckless and divisive.

“These kinds of Statements are completely wrong, dangerous and unnecessary. I am further saddened that, the leadership of the NPP will continue to look on helplessly and allow these awfully reckless and divisive statements to be made at will as campaign messages. This will destroy our party” He said in statement

Read below full statement :

Musah Superior writes;

I am utterly sickened by comments made by the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Stephen Amoah insinuating that Ghanaian Christians will not vote for a muslim to become President. These kinds of Statements are completely wrong, dangerous and unnecessary. I am further saddened that, the leadership of the NPP will continue to look on helplessly and allow these awfully reckless and divisive statements to be made at will as campaign messages. This will destroy our party. When Kennedy Agyapong and his team campaign in muslim communities, is that the way his people will speak to the delegates? If he becomes the flagbearer, won’t he need the votes of the entire nation to win? What stupid propaganda is this? The National Steering Committee must strongly and publicly conderm Stephen Amoah’s comments and issue a strongly worded statement against religious or ethnocencetric campaigns. We mustn’t allow this to continue. It is dangerous. It tells Ghanaians that we are not ready for power. I am blazing right now.
