The former Tamale Mayor, Iddrisu Musah Superior, has strongly criticized the recent wave of public sector dismissals under President John Mahama’s administration, describing it as a politically motivated
In a statement, Musah Superior criticised the government for unjustly terminating appointments made by the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. He claimed that thousands of qualified employees were being removed without due process, arguing that the dismissals were politically motivated rather than a genuine effort to “reset” the country.
“President Mahama becomes ‘Trump.’ Julius Debrah becomes ‘Musk.’ Jubilee House becomes ‘DOGE,’ as thousands of qualified and lawfully employed Ghanaians in the Public Service are being sacked capriciously,” he stated
He further criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for what he described as a disregard for fairness and national stability.
According to him, the mass dismissals have created uncertainty and hardship, turning affected individuals into “pariahs” in their own country.
Musah Superior also called on the NPP to focus on reclaiming power in the next election to put an end to what he described as “unlawful dismissal”, stressing the need for a strong and competent leadership team to restore stability and mobilize grassroots supporters.
“The NPP must return to government to pull our country back from the brink. To achieve this, the Party needs to hire the most competent teams across the board to lead in executing the monumental task ahead,” he stated.
In recent days, more than 15,000 public sector workers, many of whom were recruited after the December 7 elections, have lost their jobs. The dismissals have sparked widespread debate, with critics labelling the move as politically motivated, while government officials argue that it is part of efforts to streamline the public sector.

Jubilee House justifies this unlawful revocation of these appointments and says it is necessary because the immediate past NPP government employed them. What is happening to our country is horrendous. The Mahama led NDC government is not “resetting” the country. They are unsettling us. The persons sacked are pariah of the NDC. They have been cast off into a sinkhole by Party blind Mahama. Ghana is crumbling! The NPP must return to government to pull our country back from the brink.
To achieve this, the Party needs to hire the most competent teams across board to lead in executing the monumental task ahead. We need people who can unite and inspire our membership, invigorate the party and bring back our lost spirit. An enthusiastic and meaningful re-engagement with the grassroots must be the topmost priority of the leaderships.
