Musah Superior writes:

NPP NATIONAL EXECUTIVES MUST RESIGN EN BLOC. IF THEY STUBBORNLY STAY IN OFFICE, THEY SHOULD NOT BE RE-HIRED IN 2026.

INCOMPETENT, LACKLUSTER and WEAK leadership of our great Party deprived us of effectivity. Between July 2022 and December 2024, the motivation and participation of the party adherents were grievously lost.Throughout this period, we saw decreased morale and engagement in the activities of the Party.

The current National Executives of the New Patriotic Party have failed unimaginably. The damning outcome of their yet to be concluded stewardship included poor leadership, toxic political environment, diminished trust, reduced satisfaction and anger. When all these manifested, apathy reared its ugly head thereby nagatively impacting our productivity, attractiveness, energy and performance which led to our worst election defeat since 1996.

The National Executives incompetently led, poorly managed and lackadaisically organized the party leading to our total unpreparedness for the 2024 elections. It was clear that we struggled in all facets of political mobilization. In all the constituencies, the local party and its leadership (Constituency and Polling station Executives) suffered significant organizational and financial difficulties. They lacked administrative tools, logístics and the finances. We depended on the goodwill of our indubitable Constituency Executives, the Parliamentary Candidates – most of whom were less resourceful; and few informal patrons to partially run the party.

Whilst we languished in misery as a governing party, the then OPPOSITION NDC became agile, ploughed more resources, was supremely visible countrywide and clearly showed its preparedness to out compete us.They eventually outperformed us in a stately manner.

The NPP’s shameful ‘near absence’ in the last two years attest to the fact that, the National Executives were completely frazzled and slept on the job.The Ntim led unproficient team failed unspeakably to supervise the decentralized structures of the party functionally which led to the execrable situation we found ourselves on the 7th December, 2024.

Some National officers have publicly apologised to the party and its teaming members and supporters for our nightmarish defeat. I personally have accepted the apology but l request humbly that they go a step further and resign. This will demonstrate greater remorse.

An apology can be a powerful way to acknowledge mistakes and express regret, but there are certain situations where it may not be enough to mend the damage. Our calamitous defeat in the 2024 elections is one of such situations.

Knowing when to quit as a political leader is the best thing you can do for yourself. Most of the times, stepping down is the best way to protect your integrity and also help the party to strive. At the moment, the party needs strong, firm COURAGEOUS, bold and result-oriented leadership. We require people who can vivaciously inspire, remobilise, revitalize and lead us spiritedly to defeat the NDC in 2028.

Let’s win together in 2028.
