The Ghana Freedom Party has nominated Mr Phillips Appiah Kubi as their presidential candidate for the 2024 December elections following the sudden death of the late Madam Akua Donkor. The party on a letter presented to the Electral Commission of Ghana on Monday November 4th states that,
“I bring you greetings from the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and trust this letter finds you well.
I make reference to your letter with reference number C/EC.29/SF.10/Vol.8/ in which you requested the GFP to nominate a new Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections within ten (10) days to replace the late Akua Donkor, pursuant to Article 40(4) of the 1992 Constitution.
I hereby write to inform the Commission that the party has duly nominated Mr. Philip Appiah Kubi to replace our late Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections. His name is hereby submitted to the Commission in line with your request in the letter under reference.
The nomination of our new Presidential candidate will be filed by the party within the stipulated time frame in accordance with law.”
The party is currently waiting for a confirmation from the Electral Commission.
