Meet Melchizedek B. Adio, Ghana’s youngest university student, who is 13 years old and started school at the age of 2.

Melchizedek is a student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He was born on April 2, 2011, in Samoa, Upper West Region, but resides in Bole in the Savannah Region.

Melchizedek broke the record of being the youngest university student by just a one-month difference, surpassing the record previously set by Ruth Ama Gyan Darkwa, who was also enrolled at KNUST at 13.

In a viral video, he commented ;

“I actually started school at the age of 2. By 7, I was already in Primary 4. However, I skipped Primary 5 and went straight to Primary 6 after changing schools…….”
