The Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has extended vital support to the people of Zantani with the donation of a newly acquired engine boat complete with life-support jackets.
The presentation was made on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, during a brief ceremony attended by community leaders, youth groups, and residents.
The gesture, is in fulfillment of a pledge he made to the community during the 2024 Campaign season. According to Hon. Iddrisu, forms part of his continued commitment to improving transportation and enhancing safety for communities living along waterways within the constituency. He noted that the project is solely funded by the Member of Parliament and costed 80,000 Ghana cedis, an investment he believes will bring lasting benefits to the area.
In his address, the MP emphasized the importance of safe and reliable means of transport for the people of Zantani, especially farmers, traders, and students who frequently cross water bodies in the course of their daily activities. He expressed optimism that the donation would reduce the risks associated with crossing rivers and help facilitate economic activity.
Community leaders, including the chief of Zantani, expressed profound gratitude for the support. They praised the MP for consistently responding to the needs of the community and described the donation as timely and life-saving.
Residents who gathered for the event celebrated the initiative, noting that the new boat would significantly ease movement, particularly during emergencies and periods of high water levels.
The ceremony concluded with a demonstration of the boat’s features and a symbolic handing-over to the community, marking another milestone in the MP’s development efforts for the Tolon Constituency.
