The Member of Parliament for Mion in the Northern Region Hon Musah Abdul Aziz Ayaba has cut sod for the construction of a staff accommodation for the Agenda 111 project in Sang.

The project which includes one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom housing units, is part of a broader initiative aimed at addressing the accommodation challenges faced by healthcare professionals across the country.

The project when completed will provide residential facilities for healthcare staff.

The project is being developed by Akrot Consultant, with the Ministry of Works and Housing (MWH), the Ministry of Health (MoH), and the Government of Ghana (GoG) serving as clients.

The accomodation project is awarded to Daa Malya Company limited, a reputable Ghanaian construction firm known for its high quality infrastructure projects.

Speaking at the ceremony, a representative from the AKRO CONSULT emphasized government’s commitment to strengthen the healthcare system by providing not only state-of-the-art hospital facilities under Agenda 111 but also ensuring that healthcare workers have decent places to live.

The Member of Parliament of Mion Constituency, Hon Musah Abdul Aziz Ayaba, expressed appreciation to the government for prioritizing healthcare in the Constituency.

He noted that the accommodation project would attract and retain qualified healthcare professionals in the area, adding that, ” ultimately this will improved access to quality healthcare for residents”.

The Managing Director of Daa Malya Company Ltd, Alhaji Inusah, assured stakeholders of the timely completion of the project, adhering to the highest construction standards.

He also pledged to engage residents of Sang and it’s environs as labourers enhance their livelihoods.

Agenda 111 is a flagship program under the Akufo-Addo led NPP administration aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure across the country.

The initiative includes the construction of 111 hospitals and accompanying facilities, with a focus on underserved and rural areas.

The sod-cutting event drew stakeholders from the local government, traditional leaders, healthcare professionals, and residents of Sang.

Stakeholders expressed optimism about the project potential to enhance quality healthcare delivery in the Mion Constituency.

The project is expected to be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
