Former Minister for Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament for Yagaba/Kubori Constituency, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, has denied allegations of wrongdoing contained in the recently released Comprehensive Audit Report on the 13th African Games, Accra 2023.

In a press statement dated May 26, 2026, the former minister acknowledged that his attention had been drawn to the audit report, which reportedly cited several irregularities linked to the organization and management of the continental sporting event.

Hon. Mustapha Ussif, however, rejected any responsibility for the alleged irregularities, insisting that he should not be blamed for any wrongdoing “if any at all.”

According to him, it is his understanding that the audit report will be presented before Parliament, where individuals mentioned in the findings would be given the opportunity to respond to the issues raised.

The Yagaba/Kubori MP expressed readiness to cooperate with the process and defend his record, stating that he looks forward to responding to all allegations of impropriety contained in the report.

The audit report on the 13th African Games has generated significant public interest, with many awaiting parliamentary scrutiny and further responses from officials connected to the organization of the event.
