Traditional leaders from the Dagbon kingdom, led by Nanton Naa Bawa Mohammed, have pledged their full support to the newly appointed Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John. The chiefs, representing the Overlord of Dagbon, His Majesty Ndan Ya-Naa Abukari II, made a courtesy call on the Minister at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council in Tamale.

During the visit, the chiefs encouraged the Minister to build strong relationships with traditional authorities, religious figures, and opinion leaders to ensure sustainable development across the region.

They raised several pressing issues facing the region, including economic development, peace and security, religious tolerance, drug abuse prevention, and the ongoing water crisis in Tamale and Yendi. The traditional leaders emphasized the importance of collaboration and urged the Minister to work closely with local authorities in addressing these challenges.

In response, Hon. Ali Adolf John expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to unity and cooperation.

“I am deeply honoured by this show of unity and support,” the Minister said. “Together with our traditional leaders, we will work tirelessly to bring progress, peace, and lasting solutions to the region’s challenges.”

The meeting marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the government and traditional institutions in the Northern Region.
