The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, today paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to enquire about his well-being and seek his prayers and blessings as he prepares to seek a renewed mandate as General Secretary of the Party.

Lawyer Kodua was accompanied by the Deputy General Secretary, Prof. Haruna Mohammed, the former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, Hon. Ebenezer Nartey, and other members of his entourage.

He was received and led to the residence of the National Chief Imam by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Divine Otoo Agorhom; the First Vice Chairperson, Madam Joana Frances Adda, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary, Parker Odarlai France, the Regional Nasara Organizer Jeff Kassim; the Adentan Constituency Chairman, Chairman Kweku Mante; together with several Constituency Chairmen, Constituency Executives, Organizers, Women’s Organizers, Nasara Organizers, Communications Officers and party faithful from across the Greater Accra Region.

Addressing the Chief Imam, Lawyer Kodua reflected on his first bid for the office of General Secretary, recalling that many believed the odds were against him. Yet, through the grace of God and the prayers and blessings of the National Chief Imam, he was elected and entrusted with leading the Party through one of the most challenging periods in its history.

He acknowledged that while the Party had hoped to secure victory in the 2024 general election, that objective was not achieved. Nonetheless, he expressed confidence that the NPP can rebuild, reorganize and return to government under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Returning to the revered Islamic leader, Lawyer Kodua humbly appealed for his prayers once again, assuring him that should delegates renew his mandate as General Secretary, he would dedicate himself to leading the Party back to victory and working tirelessly to make the Chief Imam’s son, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the next President of the Republic of Ghana.

“Your Eminence, you blessed me when I first sought this office, and by the grace of God, those prayers were answered. I have come once again to seek your blessings. Bless me to retain my seat, and I will work with all my strength to make your son, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the next President of the Republic of Ghana.”

The visit concluded with prayers by the National Chief Imam for Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the leadership of the New Patriotic Party, and the peace, unity and prosperity of Ghana.
