Hamza Lansah’s move to Tolon Multimedia creates confusion in N/R NDC

Alhaji Inusah Hamza Lansah’s move to Tolon Multimedia has created a sharp division among supporters of the governing NDC in the Northern Region.

While some NDC supporters see his move as a good one and his right, others have described the move as betrayal of the party by the seasoned journalist.

The Tolon Communications Officer of the NDC, Dr. Seidu Fiter who reacted to the move by Mr. Lansah said, “Alhaji Inusah Hamza Lansah is a prolific journalist, and what makes him so is how he tackles issues with the truth. If he continues that way in TOLON, it is going to be a win for us, NDC. If he veers off from the truth, which I don’t expect from him, it is going to be injurious to his brand. Because we will always counter and expose lies in the constituency as we have always done”.

Dr. Seidu, accused the NDC of not showing appreciation to some media brands and personalities in the area who helped the party while in opposition.

He said, “We, as a party, must understand that politics is deliberate. In an era where media plays a critical role in reaching your audience and setting the agenda, you must invest in it. Some media platforms have helped us while in opposition, but what has been the “thank you” for these platforms?”.

Alhaji Inusah Hamza Lansah who until two days ago worked with Sagani TV in Tamale, announced his move to Tolon Multimedia and this sent shock waves across the Northern Region.

The commentary mostly from supporters of the NDC have accused him of betraying the party with his move to a media house which is said to be owned by Deputy Minority Whip, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu.

More names are expected to make a move to the Tolon Multimedia which is expected to go on air in the coming days.

Violent confrontation as Minority and Majority MPs clash over vetting of Ablakwa, Akandoh Juliana Odame AsarebyJuliana Odame Asare January 30, 2025 Reading Time: 1 min read Tensions flared during a session of the Appointments Committee as members of the Minority and Majority Caucuses clashed over the vetting of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. The disagreement erupted when the Minority proposed rescheduling the vetting to Friday, citing concerns over the day’s proceedings. However, Majority members rejected this suggestion, insisting that the vetting should continue as scheduled. The disagreement escalated into chaos, with Minority members disrupting the session by breaking tables and microphones in an effort to prevent any delay. Despite this, the Majority stood firm, arguing that the committee was following its established schedule and that the vetting should proceed without interruption. The situation prompted a heightened security presence in the conference room as tensions mounted. The Minority held firm in its stance, insisting that no further nominees should be vetted, pointing out that an agreement had been made to vet just four nominees and adjourn for the day. As the clash between the two factions continued, the committee’s work came to a standstill, with both sides refusing to back down from their positions.
