The Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (HeFRA) has initiated investigations and special monitoring of Tamale Central Hospital (Northern Regional Hospital)l following a besieged of the facility by some irate Tamale youth a week ago.
The Tamale Youth in their protest cited mismanagement of the hospital.
The protest, captured in a video shows overflowing dustbins and poor infection prevention and sanitation practices at the facility.
Following the disturbing situation, HeFRA dispatched a team to conduct preliminary investigations involving the hospital management and some aggrieved workers (orderlies) who took part in the industrial action.
In a press release issued and signed by the AG. Registrar of HeFRA Dr. Winfred Korletey Baah dated Tuesday, November 25,2025, added that, “A deeper engagement process with key stakeholders is underway to address the issues and prevent future occurrences”.
The probe according to HeFRA is investigating the allegations of mismanagement and some safety issues including sanitation challenges at the facility.
Again, HeFRA willl engage stakeholders to find a lasting solutions to it.
HeFRA therefore appealed to the general public to remain calm, emphasizing that, the agency is committed in ensuring safe and quality healthcare services
