Former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has commissioned a new one-storey classroom block for the Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO).
The facility, situated directly opposite the A-Level 6th Form block where he once studied, forms part of the lawmaker’s effort to give back to the institutions that shaped his academic journey.
Hon Dr Amin Adam said the commissioning reminded him of the sacrifices made by earlier generations to improve educational access, adding that current leaders must continue to create opportunities for the next generation.
School authorities expressed their gratitude to the former minister, describing him as “a man of action and generosity” whose support continues to uplift the school and its students.
The Karaga lawmaker is widely known for his passion and dedication to educating young people. He currently manages two educational support funds, one in his constituency and another in Zogbeli, a suburb of Tamale, both of which aim to assist brilliant but needy students.
Over the years, he has initiated several major educational projects, including the construction of a Senior High School in Pishigu and a Technical and Vocational School in Nyong, all within his constituency.
Hon Dr Amin Adam also revealed that additional projects will soon be commissioned, including a classroom block at the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO), another for the Markaziyya Islamic School in Zogbeli, and a dormitory block for the Ambariyya Islamic Institute.
He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding educational infrastructure and improving learning outcomes across the region.
