The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly (TaMA), through its Department of Social Welfare has disbursed a total amount of GHS 221,000.00 to 73 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) within the metropolis.
The disbursement ceremony was done at the Assembly on Monday, November 3, 2025.
The support, which forms part of the Assembly’s continuous efforts to promote social inclusion and economic empowerment, is aimed at enabling beneficiaries to start or expand their income-generating ventures. The beneficiaries were drawn from various communities across the metropolis.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Mayor of Tamale Hon. Alhaji Abu Takoro urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds to enhance their livelihoods.
Hon. Abu Takoro emphasized that the support is intended to empower them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of our metropolis.
The Mayor further encouraged them to invest wisely and take full advantage of this opportunity to improve their living conditions.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Metro Assembly for the support, adding that, the disbursement was very timely to improve their lot.
They again pledged to use the funds for the purpose been given.
