The Mayor of Tamale, Hon. Alhaji Abu Takoro today Tuesday, October 4, 2025 has paid a working visit to inspect the privately funded construction of an abattoir at Bilpiela.
The project according to the Taamle Mayor is a significant step towards modernizing our livestock and meat processing infrastructure and ensuring a more humane and efficient meat production process.
Speaking to the contractor and some butchers at the site, Abu Takoro commended the investor for his commitment to improving the metropolis’ facilities and services.
The Tamale Mayor used the platform to appeal to other benevolent individuals and corporate institutions to join the assembly’s commitment to promoting efficient and hygienic meat supply chain for the people of the metropolis.
Butchers at the Bilpiela Abattoir expressed their gratitude to the Tamale Mayor for monitoring porgress of the project, reiterating that, the Mayor’s visit shows his love for the people of Tamale.
The contractor of the project assured the Mayor of Tamale, Abu Takoro of a timely completion of the project.
The newly constructed Bilpiela Abattoir is 90% complete and will soon be commissioned by the Tamale Metro Assembly and it’s partners.
