The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity, equality, and national unity, following comments attributed to Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng, Member of Parliament for Asante Akim South.
In a statement issued by the Party’s National Secretariat, the NPP described the MP’s remarks as unfortunate and dissociated itself from them.
The Party emphasised that it remains committed to its founding principles of freedom, justice, democracy, and equal opportunity for all Ghanaians. It added that the NPP will continue to promote a society where every citizen, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or social background, can contribute meaningfully to national development.
The statement further noted that political membership and recognition within the Party are based on loyalty, commitment, and service to the NPP’s ideals and the national interest not on personal identity or attributes.
Signed by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the statement assured Ghanaians that the NPP remains a party of unity and progress.
It concluded by reaffirming the Party’s determination to uphold the dignity of every citizen and to promote a political culture of tolerance, respect, and inclusiveness.
