The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has announced the resumption of its meter monitoring exercise outside regular working hours in the Northern Area.

The exercise was suspended in July following concerns raised by some residents over the timing. Management, however, maintains that no law prevents its staff from carrying out meter checks during odd hours.

In a statement issued on Monday, September 8, 2025, NEDCo indicated that the monitoring exercise will begin on September 10, immediately after the Damba Festival. According to the company, the initiative addresses power losses, prevents illegal connections, and improves reliable electricity supply to customers.

NEDCo assured customers that the exercise is not intended to create inconvenience but to safeguard operations and guarantee safe, fair, and dependable power distribution.

The company further reiterated its commitment to providing quality service across the Northern Area.
