The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gushegu, Hon Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli, has provided financial support to 238 tertiary students from his constituency, reaffirming his commitment to education as a driving force for development. The support was disbursed on Monday, August 18, 2025.
In a statement, Hon Alhassan S. Tampuli described education as “the key to unlocking the fullest potential of our young people” and urged beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies.
Out of the number, four are pursuing law, two are in medicine, three are in engineering, 35 are in nursing, 18 are in agriculture and veterinary studies, 61 are in teacher training, and 115 are pursuing non-professional courses.
The legislator expressed delight at the increasing participation of female students, noting that the constituency was making strides toward gender balance in tertiary education. He expressed optimism that within the next few years, female students would outnumber their male counterparts.
Hon Alhassan S. Tampuli extended his congratulations to the students and encouraged them to “march forward to greatness,” stressing that their academic success would ultimately contribute to the growth and development of Gushegu.
