In a significant move aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and promoting greater cooperation between Morocco and Ghana, the Kingdom of Morocco has officially lifted visa requirements for Ghanaian citizens holding ordinary passports.

The decision follows high-level discussions between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, H.E. Mr. Nasser Bourita, and Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, held in Rabat on June 5, 2025.

According to an official statement released by the Moroccan Embassy, effective June 6, 2025, Ghanaian citizens with ordinary passports will no longer need a visa to enter Morocco. Instead, travellers will now be required to complete an Electronic Travel Authorisation to Morocco (ETAM) form online via the official portal: https://www.acces-maroc.ma.

The embassy has also provided a contact line, 0570692450, for further information or assistance regarding the new travel process.

It is important to note that holders of Diplomatic, Service, and Special passports from Ghana were already exempt from visa and ETAM requirements.

This development is expected to enhance tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two countries and is seen as a testament to the deepening ties between Morocco and Ghana.
