The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe and former Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has extended a helping hand to victims of the recent fire disaster at the Adum Railways area in Kumasi by donating GH¢100,000 and 200 bags of cement.
The donation is intended to support victims in reconstructing their homes and businesses, many of which were completely destroyed in the blaze that tore through the area on April 3, 2025.
During a brief presentation, Dr. Adutwum expressed his sympathy to affected families and pledged his continued support toward their recovery efforts.
“I am deeply saddened by the extent of destruction caused by the fire. This donation is a small step to help victims recover and rebuild their lives,” he stated.
Leaders of the traders and market women in the area expressed deep appreciation to the MP, describing his gesture as timely and compassionate. They also called on other well-meaning individuals and organizations to assist in alleviating the suffering of the victims.
The fire, which started in the early hours of April 3, 2025, destroyed several shops and residential structures, leaving many people homeless and causing significant financial losses.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the cause of the fire, while relief efforts are ongoing.
