The Northern Regional Minister, Hon Ali Adolf John, has officially launched the media campaign for the 3rd Northern Trade and Industry Summit (NTIIS) at a ceremony held at the Tamale Regional Coordinating Council.
The event, organized by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in collaboration with the Ghana Revenue Authority, the University for Development Studies (UDS), and other partners, brought together key stakeholders from government, traditional authorities, academia, and civil society organisations.
This year’s summit, themed “Enhancing Standard and Industrial Growth Through Strategic Investment and Accelerated Export,” was chaired by Alhajj Yakubu Andani, Chief of the Zangbalig Traditional Area. The gathering highlighted the importance of regional collaboration in driving economic development in northern Ghana.
In his keynote address, the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf, stressed the significance of strategic investment and export promotion in transforming the economic landscape of the northern sector. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to youth empowerment, support for local enterprises, and reducing the developmental gap between the North and South.
“The summit aims to create a platform that promotes industrial growth, job creation, and increased export potential, especially in northern Ghana, and the government is committed to supporting industrialization through many initiatives like the Big Push and the 24Hour Economy policy”, the Minister said, as he officially launched the summit’s activities.
The occasion also featured cultural performances, traditional drumming and dancing, as well as remarks from partner organizations. It concluded with a renewed call to harness the region’s potential for sustainable socioeconomic advancement.
