A leading financier and supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nanton Constituency, Saha-Naa, has strongly denied allegations leveled against him by the former Member of Parliament, Hon. Hardi Tuferu. The accusations, which surfaced through a leaked tape and were published by Majority Radio’s Facebook page on January 30, 2025, claim that Saha-Naa, along with Napaga Tia Sulemana and Kamal Deen Abdulai, worked against the former MP during the 2024 election campaign, leading to his defeat.

In a firm response, Saha-Naa refuted these claims, stating that they were entirely false and intended to tarnish his hard-earned reputation. According to him, his commitment to the NPP in the Nanton Constituency has been unwavering for over a decade, during which he has been the sole individual sponsor of the party without holding any official position or government appointment.

“All the accusations he made against me on the said leaked tape are patently false,” Saha-Naa stated.

A Record of Support for the NPP in Nanton

Detailing his contributions to the party, Saha-Naa highlighted his extensive support for the NPP’s campaign efforts in the constituency. Ahead of the 2024 general elections, he played a crucial role in mobilizing the youth for the party’s campaign, personally supporting the inauguration of over 20 NPP youth groups across all 20 electoral areas. Each group received GHc1,000.00 to aid their activities.

Despite being abroad during the initial phase of the campaign, he ensured his presence was felt by delegating his personal assistant to present cash donations on his behalf. Upon his return, he further strengthened the campaign by meeting with the youth groups and providing an additional GHc500.00 per group. In addition, he donated 400 plastic chairs, valued at GHc46,000.00, to support the youth groups.

Saha-Naa revealed that he invested a total of GHc150,000.00 in the Nanton constituency’s campaign, taking part in grassroots mobilization through door-to-door and polling station-to-polling station outreach efforts.

Rejecting the Allegations

Given his active role in strengthening the party’s presence in Nanton, Saha-Naa questioned the basis of the former MP’s accusations.

“How could one describe all these efforts as being driven by ill will to retain the seat for our beloved NPP? If not motivated by hatred, greed, evil, or an attempt to destroy my future prospects in constituency leadership, the former MP could have applauded me instead of tarnishing my hard-earned reputation in the constituency and beyond.”

He called on Hon. Hardi Tuferu to issue a formal retraction and apology for the false claims made against him.

Commitment to the Party Remains Strong

Despite the accusations, Saha-Naa reaffirmed his dedication to the NPP and the development of the Nanton Constituency. He expressed gratitude to party elders, loyal supporters, and grassroots members who have stood by him.

“I appreciate the words of advice and encouragement from the party elders, my loyal supporters, colleague foot soldiers, and the entire NPP in the constituency. I will continue to support the party in the Nanton constituency and beyond, even with more energy, despite the false accusations labeled against me by our former MP after the 2024 elections.”

Saha-Naa’s response has sparked discussions within NPP circles in Nanton, with many party members rallying behind him. The demand for a retraction from the former MP is gaining traction, as party faithful emphasize the need for unity in preparation for future political contests.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on Hon. Hardi Tuferu to see whether he will respond to the call for a formal retraction and apology.
