The former Deputy National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Dr Dominic Kwesi Eduah has urged the people of Northern Ghana to vote massively for the NPP Flagbearer, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to win the upcoming 2024 general elections.

According to him, Northern Ghana will make history by making Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia the first Muslim President in Ghana.

He believed that, getting a first Muslim President in Ghana will not only be historic but will enhance the democratically credentials of the country.

Speaking on Tolon Radio 102.7 morning show (Biegu Naa Yo) hosted by Abdul Shakun Omae, Tuesday, Dr Dominic noted that the dominance of Christian Presidents since Independence have to be curtailed by voting for the first time a Muslim President, “we started our 4th republic since 1992, in 1992 we had late JJ Rawlings as our president he was a Christian, after that President Kufour took over also a Christian after that the late Prof Mills took over a Christian, after that former President Mahama took over as a Christian, we currently have Nana Addo Akufo Addo, a Christian but Ghana is about to make history and the Northern Region is leading this history by giving as the first Muslim President”. He said

The former NPP youth leader intimated that, it will be very interesting to have a first Muslim President in Ghana, “We will have the world looking at us, we will have international attention and everything for the first time Ghana has produce a Muslim President, is this not beautiful?”.

He noted that, getting a Muslim President for the first time will further strengthen the relationship and bond between Christians and Muslims in Ghana.

“Just like other developed countries where Christians dominate and Muslims have the President it has given very good results to them. Ghana is growing, forget about the religious issues, we are looking at performance. NPP has majority as Christians per our data, the Christians dominate far more than the Muslims in the NPP so why do we overwhelmingly gave our mandate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia?. He asked

Dr Dominic said, the 2024 presidential Candidate of the NPP have shown much leadership and leading the party goes beyond his faith, “ its goes beyond that, it goes beyond the fact that he is a Muslim. It is because of his capability, because his style, the humility. One candidate who can never be associated with corruption. He’s been a running for 8years and Vice President for 8 years, he’s been in the space for 16 year continuously. Can you tell me a shred of corruption as far as this man is concern?. As for the former President Mahama if you want I can give you a booklet of his corruption deals”. He stated

He reiterated that, both the Ghanaian clergy and Chiefs speaks highly of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia because of his humility, saying that, “Dr Bawumia met the clergy in Volta Region and the head of the clergy said that one thing they love about him is the fact that there is no shred of corruption associated to him. Two revered Chiefs also made same statement about Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia “.
