The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Youth Organiser for Mion, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakari Naporo has  voiced strong support for the Konkomba people, claiming that the NPP values Konkombas more than any other political party, especially the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This statement comes in light of the nomination of Ali Adolf as the Northern Regional Minister-designate.

According to Alhaji Naporo affectionately called Dj Parara, the NDC’s interest in the Konkomba people is purely transactional, only surfacing when election time arrives.

In an exclusive statement posted on his Majority Radio facebook page claimed that the NDC does not genuinely prioritize the development or inclusion of the Konkombas in decision-making processes. Instead, he believes that the party exploits the Konkomba community as a mere political tool to gain power.

The Mion NPP Youth Organiser emphasized that the NPP has always been a true ally of the Konkombas, not just during election years.

He pointed to several key appointments made by previous NPP government including the appointment of prominent konkombas like Hon. Charles Bintim, the former Minister for Local Government under former president Kofour, and Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, the former Defence Minister, both of whom hail from the region.

According to Alhaji Naporo, these appointments reflect the NPP’s genuine investment in the development and growth of the Konkomba people.

Alhaji Naporo also expressed concerns about the NDC’s recent moves, particularly the nomination of Ali Adolf John as the Northern Regional Minister-designate.

He noted that this nomination is part of a larger strategy by the NDC to marginalize the Konkombas, particularly in key leadership roles within the northern region.

In his conclusion, the NPP Organiser reiterated the NPP’s dedication to the prosperity of the Konkomba people, stressing that the party’s efforts towards the development of Konkomba people goes beyond token gestures.
