As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for its internal elections next year, several prominent party members are beginning to announce their intentions to contest key positions at the constituency, regional, and national levels.

Among them is Dr. Fusheini Bawah Zakaria-Kpana, a long-serving and respected member of the party, who has officially declared his candidacy for the position of Northern Regional Secretary. With nearly 20 years of experience as the Constituency Secretary for Yendi, Dr. Zakaria-Kpana is widely viewed as a strong contender for the regional position.

Under his leadership as constituency secretary in Yendi, the NPP has consistently recorded electoral victories, which many attribute to his strategic planning, deep community engagement, and steadfast commitment to the party’s ideals. Currently serving as the Northern Regional Research and Elections Director, Dr. Zakaria-Kpana has played a significant role in shaping the party’s electoral research and strategies across the region.

Some Party members describe Dr Zakaria as a patriotic and diligent figure, praised for his deep understanding of the political dynamics within the Northern Region. His extensive experience, coupled with a proven track record of organisational excellence, has earned him broad support from within the party ranks.

Some Supporters say his candidacy offers a fresh opportunity to consolidate the NPP’s influence in the region through improved coordination and administrative leadership.

The upcoming regional elections are expected to be highly competitive, but many observers consider Dr. Zakaria-Kpana a frontrunner due to his experience, dedication, and longstanding service to the NPP.

As the NPP moves toward its next round of internal elections in preparation towards the 2028 general elections, the spotlight will undoubtedly be on candidates like Dr. Zakaria-Kpana, whose leadership could significantly impact the party’s future direction in the Northern Region.
