The government has provided financial assistance of ₵5,000 to each of the 30 households affected by the recent mining shop explosion in Konongo-Odumase.

During a visit to the scene, Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene assured victims of continued support from the government. He also directed the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to assess the extent of damage and provide essential relief items, including mattresses and roofing materials, to help affected families recover.

The explosion, which rocked the area earlier this week, caused significant damage to homes and businesses, leaving many residents in distress. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident while prioritizing relief efforts for those impacted.

Dr. Amoakohene reiterated the government’s commitment to assisting the victims, stating, “We are working to ensure that all affected households receive the necessary aid to rebuild their lives. This is just the beginning of our support.”

Residents welcomed the financial relief but appealed for long-term assistance to fully recover from the disaster. NADMO officials have assured the public that they are actively working on a comprehensive response plan to address both the immediate and future needs of the victims.
