Former spokesperson for Alan Kyerematen, Richard Kwesi Nyamah, has crossed over to join the campaign of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and pledges his unflinching support to ensure that Dr. Bawumia wins the NPP flagbearership race come January 31, 2026 .

Mr. Nyamah over the weekend was spotted together with NPP MPs from the five  (5) Northern Regions during a campaign tour of the Savannah and Oti Regions on behalf of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Bawumia Campaign was led by the former Finance Minister and Karaga MP, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam.

Earlier, the NPP Members of Parliament tour the Upper West, Upper East, North-East and Northern Regions, where they campaign vigorously for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Addressing delegates, Richard Nyamah made a strong case for the re-election of Dr Bawumia as NPP flagbearer, describing the former Vice President as the NPP’s “strongest option” to win the 2028 general elections.

He again describes Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the most marketed among the contenders, and cited his governance experience, economic management skills, and broad national appeal.

“Dr. Bawumia has the track record and vision to keep the NPP in power. He is our best chance of victory in 2028,” Mr. Nyamah declared.

Political watchers say the endorsement is notable, given Nyamah’s previous loyalty to former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, who quit the NPP in 2023 to form the Movement for Change. His decision to now throw his weight behind Dr. Bawumia is seen as a boost to the former Vice President’s campaign message of unity.

Again, it shows the capability of Dr. Bawumia to unite the NPP as he is opened to all shades of opinion in the Party.

As the NPP’s flagbearer contest draws closer, endorsements such as this are expected to shape momentum and influence delegates across the country.
