Former Mayor of Tamale and current Deputy Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission, Musah Iddrisu Superior, has joined forces with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Keta, Courage Hope Goldberg-Grimm, to intensify campaign efforts in the Keta constituency ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Together with constituency executives led by Dr. Benjamin Sena Dzamesi, the team conducted a full-day campaign in Tsiame, a rural community in the constituency, to mobilize support for the NPP. Musah Superior emphasized the importance of increasing voter turnout in traditionally unfavorable constituencies like Keta, highlighting the party’s determination to close the electoral gap.

In the 2020 general elections, the NPP garnered 12.41% of the Presidential vote in Keta, compared to the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) overwhelming 86.89%. The Parliamentary election saw a similar trend, with the NPP securing 13.73% while the NDC claimed 85.81%.

“These numbers show why we need to work harder in constituencies like Keta to increase our share of the votes, especially in the Presidential election,” Musah Superior said. He expressed optimism in the ongoing efforts, praising the commitment of Courage Hope Goldberg-Grimm and his campaign team.

The campaign in Tsiame focused on engaging directly with residents, addressing their concerns, and presenting the NPP’s development-focused agenda as the party seeks to win over more voters in a region historically dominated by the NDC.

Musah Superior described the campaign as both challenging and fulfilling. “I am happy to join this persevering team in this difficult but necessary task,” he noted.

As the December 7th election approaches, the NPP hopes to make significant inroads in the Keta constituency, leveraging grassroots engagement and targeted strategies to improve their electoral performance.
