This week is expected to be a significant one for H.E. President John Dramani Mahama as he prepares to unveil three major initiatives aimed at boosting youth development and strengthening healthcare support in Ghana.

The announcement was made by the Minister for Government Communications, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, through his official Facebook page. He confirmed that the initiatives are part of the commitments outlined in the NDC 2024 manifesto.

According to Hon. Kwakye Ofosu, the first launch will take place on Monday, with the introduction of the Adwumawura Initiative. This programme targets 10,000 young business owners across the country, aiming to provide critical support to emerging entrepreneurs and drive job creation within Ghana’s formal economy.

On Tuesday, the president will roll out the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (Mahama Cares), a new healthcare support initiative. This fund is designed to assist individuals battling chronic illnesses by reducing their financial burdens and improving access to quality healthcare services.

Finally, on Wednesday, President Mahama will unveil the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP). The programme aims to equip tens of thousands of young Ghanaians with artisanal and technical skills, preparing them for employment opportunities and boosting the country’s skilled workforce.

According to Hon Kwakye Ofosu, these initiatives represent a major step towards fulfilling President Mahama’s vision of empowering the youth and enhancing healthcare systems across the nation, as captured in their 2024 manifesto.
