The Member of Parliament for Tolon constituency and Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Habib Iddrisu, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, for his consistent support of the Muslim Caucus in the 8th Parliament.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Hon. Habib took a moment before addressing his main submission to commend the Speaker’s exceptional contributions to the Muslim community, particularly his support for the annual Umrah pilgrimage.

“Mr. Speaker, before I proceed, I would like to seize this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and profound appreciation to you on behalf of the Muslim Caucus,” he stated. “Your unwavering support through the provision and facilitation of the Umrah pilgrimage for the past five years is nothing short of remarkable. Indeed, it is unprecedented in the history of our Parliament.” He said.
Hon. Habib lauded the Speaker’s generosity and described it as a symbol of leadership rooted in empathy and inclusivity. “Your generosity and commitment to the welfare of the Muslim community stand as a shining example of leadership with a heart and a legacy of compassion that remains unmatched,” he added.
The Tolon MP emphasized that the Speaker’s efforts have set a new standard in parliamentary leadership and interfaith cooperation. “You have not only set a benchmark but also demonstrated what it really means to be a leader who bridges faith with benevolence.”
He concluded by assuring the Speaker that his name would be fondly remembered as a true champion of the Muslim community in Ghana’s legislative history.
