The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to add 10,000 new delegates to its voters’ album ahead of the presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026. This move is expected to increase the total number of delegates to around 210,000.
10,000 new delegates will be added, including former constituency executives, regional executives, parliamentary candidates, and former government officials.
The registration process has been transparent, with agents representing all presidential aspirants involved.
Five candidates are vying for the NPP flagbearer position, including Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
The primaries aim to elect the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections. The process has been touted as transparent and fair, with the NPP Presidential Elections Committee chairman, Joseph Osei Owusu, assuring that concerns will be addressed.
