Social activist and lawyer, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has expressed disappointment over a ruling delivered by Circuit Court Judge, Bright Acquah, in a case involving the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Mr. Barker-Vormawor said the judge’s reasoning in the matter left him concerned about the state of Ghana’s judiciary.
“I sincerely and honestly believe that this man is not fit to remain on the Bench. I’m not angry. I’m just sad for our democracy,” he stated.
Mr. Barker-Vormawor, who has been vocal on issues of governance and rule of law, warned that such decisions weaken public trust in democratic institutions.
The comments have since generated reactions, with many observers noting the growing public scrutiny of judicial independence in politically sensitive cases.
