The Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu and a member of the Finance Committee of Parliament, Hon. Atta Issah, has clarified that the Northern Region is indeed included in the government’s ambitious “Big Push” infrastructure agenda, despite its initial omission in the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review presented by Finance Minister, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson.
Speaking in a live interview on Tolon Radio’s “Biegu Naa Yo” morning show hosted by Mohammed Suhuyini Shaharan, Hon. Atta Issah addressed the growing public outcry from constituents and residents of the Northern Region. He explained that although the region was not specifically mentioned during the Finance Minister’s presentation, it remains a key beneficiary under the project.
According to Hon. Atta Issah, three outer ring roads in the Northern Region are earmarked for construction under the Big Push initiative. He noted that during a parliamentary debate today, confirmation of the region’s inclusion shall be made and assured that full project details will be made public to enhance transparency and public awareness.
Hon. Atta Issah also announced that the Sagnarigu Constituency will benefit from 18 kilometers of road construction this year, a major boost to local infrastructure development.
The clarification comes in response to concerns from residents and stakeholders in the region who felt sidelined by the lack of mention in the initial budget review. The MP reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the Northern Region receives its fair share of national development projects.
