The Ho High Court has convicted seven individuals for their roles in the robbery and brutal murder of Mawutor Adzahli, the former Assembly Member for the Sogakope electoral area.

In a ruling delivered on Thursday, May 22, 2025, by Justice John Ekow Mensah, the court found three of the accused, Richard Adikyere, Stephen Adzibolo, and Emmanuel Hedzro, guilty of both robbery and murder. Adikyere received a life sentence, while Adzibolo and Hedzro were each handed 47-year prison terms.

Four other individuals, Samuel Kofi Zotorvi, Christian Zotorvi, Michael Sam, and Obed Ayornu, who pleaded guilty during the trial, were also convicted. Samuel and Christian Zotorvi were each sentenced to 15 years in prison, while Sam and Ayornu received 20-year terms.

According to the police statement, all seven convicts are currently serving their sentences at the Ho Central Prisons.

The Volta Regional Police’s Public Affairs Unit confirmed the convictions in a statement signed by DSP Felix Danku.
