Ghanaian rapper, Sherif Abdul-Majeed also known as Maccasio has defended his decision to headline the other half of now defunct duo P-Square to Tamale in July just after a month of his rival Fancy Gadam bringing Rudeboy to the same venue.
The entertainment arena in the Northern Regional capital heated up from Sunday night after Maccasio made the announcement that the headline act for his July 18 concert is Mr. P whose brother thrilled fans in the same place on the 28th of May, 2026.
While some fans felt disappointed and accused him of imitating his bitter rival, Maccasio insists that the decision is good for northern entertainment.
Speaking on Bugum Beni on Tolon Radio with Mr. Tell on Monday, he said “I am not doing this because of competition with Fancy Gadam. My fans told me they want a show and I am doing it for them. Truth is that those who are criticizing me will be at the event.
You know that some people did not hear of the show headlined by Rudeboy and you know this my show can publicize the earlier concert which will give us the recognition we deserve”.
“As we sit, I bet that some entertainment pundits will be wondering how these boys from the north are getting the P-Sqaure brothers to their area. Some of them even with money cannot get these artists to perform at their concerts”, he stressed.
Maccasio is expected to hold one of the biggest concerts in the country on July 18, 2026, which will be headlined by Mr. P. This concert is expected to draw fans from across Ghana to the Northern Regional capital who would want to catch a glimpse of one half of now defunct twin musical duo, P-Square especially so that his brother Rudeboy headlines a similar one organized by Maccasio’s rival, Fancy Gadam.
Music lovers have been divided since the announcement of the headline act on Sunday, June 7th, 2026.
