President John Dramani Mahama says his administration is focused on achieving a stable currency rather than a strong Ghana Cedi as part of efforts to reset the nation’s economy.

In a statement marking 60 years of the Ghana Cedi, the President said his government’s priority is to create a predictable business environment that promotes investment, stabilises food prices, and ensures sustainable economic growth.

He explained that a stable currency creates a conducive environment for business and investment, which in turn ensures stable food prices and low inflation, ultimately benefiting the entire country.

President Mahama commended the Bank of Ghana for reaffirming its commitment to monetary stability and economic prosperity, noting that these align with his Resetting Ghana Agenda.

He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to build a resilient economy that guarantees prosperity for all Ghanaians.
