In a press release, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) said it had received an additional amount of GH¢35m from the Ministry of Education, and this amount is enough for them to release this year’s wassec results.
“The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its stakeholders that on December 25, 2024, it received a cheque for an additional amount of GHC 35,000,000.00 from the Ministry of Education to enable it complete the scanning of the objective answer cards and conclude processing of results for the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024.
Consequently, the Council is working round the clock to ensure the results are released by the end of the month.
Meanwhile the Council is appealing to the Ministry of Education to release the outstanding balance to enable it pay Supervisors, Invigilators, script checkers, suppliers of examination materials and also meet other financial obligations.
The Council wishes all its stakeholders the Best of the Season and assures them of its commitment to the execution of its mandate despite the challenges.”
