The newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tolon, Hon. Braimah Seidu, has paid a courtesy call on His Royal Majesty Ndan Ya-Na Abukari II, the Overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom, at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.

Hon. Seidu was accompanied by regional and constituency executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the new DCE to the traditional leadership and seek the Overlord’s blessings and guidance as he begins his tenure.

His Royal Majesty Ndan Ya-Na Abubakari II warmly welcomed the delegation and offered words of encouragement to the new DCE. He commended Hon. Seidu for recognizing the importance of traditional authority and advised him to work in close collaboration with chiefs, religious leaders and other stakeholders to promote development across the Tolon District and the Northern Region.

The Overlord emphasized the need for unity, tolerance, cooperation, and accountability in governance especially at the local level.
“Effective leadership must be built on tolerance, inclusivity, and mutual respect; leaders must put their self-interest aside and always work for their people”, he said.

In his response to the Overlord’s remarks, Hon. Seidu Braimah expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed his respect for the authority of Dagbon. He pledged to lead with transparency and humility while prioritizing inclusive development initiatives.
“I am committed to working hand-in-hand with traditional leaders and community stakeholders to ensure sustainable progress in our district,” he stated.
